July 4th Weekend, 2008

We had a wonderfuly July 4th weekend this year. The weather was beautiful the whole weekend. Friday the 4th was best 4th I could remember in a while. The usual suspects came to my mother's for way too much food and fun in the sun (although, as I downloaded the photos, I noticed we didn't take any photos of anyone else there besides Alexa). Alexa went to the Parade with Jason, Harvey and Big Vin. They stayed about an hour and they said she was very good (she got to see horses, so that made her happy). When they came back I told Alexa she should take a nap (it was 2pm), but she saw people in the pool and says, "No, I go wimming. Get my winsuit on." So she swam instead of taking a nap and boy did she play in the pool. That kid probably jumped in 150 times. She played and played and played. She also ate just a few cupcakes (well, only the frosting since she doesn't like cake) and just a couple chocolate covered fruit things. By 8:30 it was time for her to go to bed. She was so tired. Her eyes were all blood-shot. She passed right out and never made a peep. My parents neighbors lauched a ton of illegal fireworks and Alexa never woke-up. A few of us made it up until about 10:30 before we pooped out. We spent Saturday in the pool too. On Sunday, Jason, Harvey and I took Alexa to the zoo. She got all went running through the water spouts (yeah, we saw animals too). We then hit up sushi for lunch. Alexa ate about a pound of edamame. When we asked her to say "edamame" she said "no, my mommy" and pointed to me. It was funny. I, of course, could only eat tempura, which sucked. It was a wonderful weekend ... couldn't have asked for a better one.
