OUR HOUSE

Here are images of the house when we bought it, when we painted it and updated stuff and how it looks afterwards.

Well, we're finally finished! WOO HOO! We painted the kitchen, the front entry, the 3 bedrooms and the what-ever-you-call-it front room. The front room took 6 coats of paint. Yes, that's right 6 coats of paint - 1 dark primer and 5 coats of red. But it's my favorit room. Hopefully some day we'll actually get furniture for it. Our inspiration for the room are the 2 oriental pictures we bought. We still want to paint the family room, but we need to take a break. We planted 2 pine trees and hopefully by the time we're 50 they'll be big enough to actually block our neighbors backyard - haha. Now all we need is some bedroom furniture and to put up some artwork. I figure we have time to do all that.

These are "progress" photos. We had started out painting the purple kitchen a terra cotta color, but it looked orange. So we ended up painting it a very light tan color. We put wood floors in our bedroom, replaced the carpet upstairs, painted all the bedrooms a darker tan color and put together our table and chairs. We still have to paint the "what-ever-you-call-it" room red and we might change the color of the living room. We ripped out an end cabinet and installed a wine fridge. I will add some "finished" photos later.

Well, we finally did it - we are buying a house. The house is located in Lakeville, about 20 minutes south of MPLS/St. Paul.

The house has 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a small den. It's called a multi-level home and it's four levels in all. When you first walk in, the formal dining room is to the left and straight ahead is the informal dining area and a huge kitchen. Down 3 steps to the right is a large family room. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The basement has a medium size area to hang out, a bathroom, a small room for storage and large crawl space (which I figure kids will love to play and hide in one day).

The house was painted in horrible colors (done very recently by the previous owner with bad taste), the photos don't do them justice. The kitchen is dark purple (eggplant if you will) and no matter what my mother tries to tell you, it doesn't look good. The master bedroom is painted in a neon baby blue. We will be painting most of the interior and replacing the carpet upstairs, along with a few misc. fix-it stuff around the house.

The master bedroom has a very large walk-in closet and the bathroom has 2 sinks and a large stand-up shower.

These photos don't show how big the house is - it's 2,600 square feet. We'll try to take some better, far away, photos to give better perspective after we paint and stuff.

We're looking forward to entertaining and enjoying our new place with our friends and family.
